N.J. Senate to Consider Relaxing Limits on Sex Abuse Lawsuits
On Thursday, December 9, 2010 the New Jersey Senate will consider relaxing the limits on sex abuse lawsuits filed in the State of New Jersey. The bill that is before the NJ Senate continues to allow a victim of abuse the ability to sue his or her abuser or to sue a parent or a guardian if the parent or guardian knew about the sexual abuse and allowed the sexual abuse to occur. However, at present, a victim has only two years to sue once they become aware of the damage caused by the abuse. It is this statue of limitations that is being reviewed on Thursday. More...
